Calamari tajine with green peas
This is a yummy recipe from my hometown Sfax. It is really really easy to make.
Ingredients for 4 persons:
1 lb of calamari
1 onion
2 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp of turmeric
2 tsp of ground red pepper or pakrika
1/4 tsp of red pepper flakes or harisa
2 tbsp of olive oil
1 tbsp of tomato paste
3 tbsp of chopped Persil
½ pound of frozen green peas
2 peeled potatoes and diced
salt and pepper
Preparation
Clean the calamari and cut into small pieces.In a medium saucepan sauté onion, calamari and olive oil. Add garlic cloves diced and sauté again. Add water until the calamari is covered. Add the spices and tomato paste. Cover and cook for 30 min. Add the potatoes and cook for 10 mintes.Add the frozen peas add parsley minutes and continue
cooking for 10 minutes.
